We recommend trying multiple strategies in order to search for
postdoctoral fellowships. You should search the Internet for additional
postdoctoral opportunities in your area. They are normally associated with
various research institutes, so you might search for fellowship
opportunities within various institutes related to your specialty (see
http://www.asanet.org/student/oppresrc.html for
a listing). ASA has a website (http://www.asanet.org/student/funding.html)
with a small list of fellowship opportunities as well. Also, many of the
larger universities have postdoctoral opportunities. You can try visiting
their websites to see if you can find a postdoctoral opportunity that
would be a good match for you. You might also search for Society of
Fellows programs which are present at a variety of universities. Finally,
you should let your professors know that you are looking for a
postdoctoral opportunity. These opportunities often open and close on a
yearly basis and they vary in the extent to which they are publicized.
Therefore, your professors may be your best resource in finding a postdoc.
