These tables show trends in sociology as a profession,
going back as far as 1930.Included are
individual tables on enrollments, degrees awarded, employment, faculty
salaries, and women and minorities in the pipeline.The Research Department constantly updates them so that the most
recent information for policy implementation and planning purposes are
available.They are based on secondary
data from nationally representative surveys as well as data collected by the
ASA. Since we use a variety of data sources, there may be small discrepancies
among the findings. To access the data tables, simply click on the title of the
table you wish to display, and use the forward and back buttons to navigate the
site.
Sources for the data are gathered together in a reference
section, which can be accessed by clicking “sources used” below each table or
figure.
