Registration and Housing Open for 2005 Annual Meeting

Program participants should preregister as soon as possible (by May 31) to ensure that their listings are maintained in the Final Program. Note: The online preliminary program will be posted to the website by the end of May.

- Two new syllabi sets are now available from the ASA online bookstore: Teaching About Animals and Society: A Collection of Syllabi, Projects, Assignments, Web Sites, Articles and Bibliographies , edited by Janet M. Alger, Tracey Smith-Harris, Shawn McEntee and Kim W. Stallwood; and Syllabi and Teaching Resources for the Sociology of Development and Women in Development (Second Edition), edited by Basil Kardaras . For Members Only
- The ASA has updated the online member discussion forums with new topics. In addition to centennial and annual meeting discussions, we are inaugurating a new “featured article” discussion from each issue of Footnotes. Over the next months, more topics will be added. We look forward to your participation to make the new forums active and lively. Use your member ID and password to login.
New Online Directory of Departments
- Members can now search the online ASA department database for contact information on over 2,200 departments of sociology and related fields. If available, each record includes chair name, mailing address, telephone and fax numbers, type of degree or courses offered, and hotlinks to e-mail address and website. You can search by institution name, degree or courses offered, or state or country. This new online search replaces the old Directory of Departments, available in print prior to 1999.
