Section Session Allocation

Council has approved the following formula for allocating annual meeting sessions to sections:

Number of Members in a Section Number of Sessions Earned
Less than 300 1
300-399 2
400-599 3
600-799 4
800-999 5
1000+ 6

This formula is based on the number of members at the end of the membership year (i.e., September 30th each year). Sections meeting on the last day also earn 1 bonus session in addition to the numbers above.

Section Budget Allocation

Council has established the following system for allocating funds to sections for their activities:

· Each section will receive a base budget allocation, unless their total membership falls below 300 (see below).

· Every section will receive $2 per member.

· The first year that a section is below the 300-member requirement, the base amount will be calculated by dividing the total number of section members by 300 and multiplying the result by 1000; the $2 per member allocation will remain unchanged.

· If a section remains below the required number of 300 members for a second year, the base amount will be reduced in half if (1) a section has 200 or more members, or (2) will be eliminated if a section has less than 200 members; these sections will only receive the $2 per member allocation.
