Hotel Accomodations in Montréal

The 101st ASA Annual Meeting will be held at the Palais des congrès de Montréal, which is the downtown convention center in Montréal, Quebec, Canada. All program sessions will be held at the Palais, along with the ASA Exhibits, Registration, Bookstore, and Employment Service. The ASA Child Care Service will be housed at the Delta Centre-ville Hotel, the designated headquarters hotel located two blocks from the convention center.

Blocks of sleeping rooms for ASA meeting attendees have been arranged at six downtown hotels: Delta Centre-Ville (ASA headquarters hotel), Hôtel Intercontinental, Hyatt Regency Montréal, Fairmont Queen Élizabeth, Marriott Château Champlain, and Le Centre Sheraton. Housing services will be provided by Tourisme Montréal, and information on making reservations at ASA convention rates is posted on the ASA website.

Staying within the Block. Booking a room in the ASA room blocks is an important way to support the Association and ultimately keep meeting costs as low as possible. Staying “within the block” is also more convenient and helps you stay connected with the informal activities and networking opportunities during the meeting.

Room Rates. Please refer to the hotel information form printed with the housing form in this supplement for ASA convention rates. Please note that room rates are quoted in Canadian dollars and do not include taxes (currently 3% occupancy tax, 7.0% GST, and 7.5% PST).

Student Rooms. Arrangements for a special student discount on a small block of rooms has been made with the McGill Residence Hall on the campus of McGill University. A limited number of rooms are available in this special block for students only. Valid student IDs will be required at check-in to verify eligibility for student rooms. Please note that roommate arrangements must be worked out privately in advance; neither the ASA nor the housing agency can assign roommates.

Making a Reservation. Reservations may be made online via the ASA website, or you may call or fax as indicated on the housing form. ASA convention rates are applicable for 3 days before and after the meeting, but the number of rooms is limited at each hotel. Availability is at the discretion of the hotels.

Reservation Deadline: July 3, 006. You are encouraged to make your reservation as soon as possible. Rooms at the ASA rates are available on a first-come, first-served basis. If a room block sells out before the deadline, no further reservations can be accepted.

Room Deposit. A reservation deposit equal to one night’s stay is required, and your room reservation must be guaranteed by a major credit card.

Cancellation. Hotels will not refund guarantees/deposits unless cancellation is received at least 72 hours prior to arrival. Please check your hotel confirmation for the specific policy at that facility.
