Seeking Award Nominations
ASA's Sociology of Emotions Section’s Recent Contribution Award
Nominations are being sought for the most outstanding book published in the last three years that advances the sociology of emotions empirically, theoretically, or methodologically. The recipient must be a member of the Sociology of Emotions section. Send nominations to Kathryn Lively (Kathryn.Lively@dartmouth.edu) by February 15, 2012. Books must be sent to all members of the award committee (Kathryn Lively, Becky Erickson and Lynn Smith-Lovin).
ASA’s Sociology of Emotions Section’s Outstanding Graduate Student Paper Award
Nominations are being sought for the most outstanding, article-length graduate student paper that contributes to the sociology of emotions empirically, theoretically, or methodologically. Authors of eligible papers must be graduate students at the time of the paper's submission. Multiple-authored papers are eligible for the award if all authors are graduate students. Papers that have been accepted for publication at the time of nomination are not eligible. To submit a nomination, please send a PDF file of the paper to Ellen Granberg (granber@clemson.edu). Deadline for submissions is March 1, 2012.
Lifetime Achievement Award
Nominations are sought to honor a member of the Section with a record of several years of scholarly work of exceptional merit and who has developed and extended the sociology of emotions empirically, theoretically, or methodologically. To submit a nomination, please send a letter in support of your nominee by February 15, 2012 to Brian Powell (powell@indiana.edu).
