Disability and Accessibility

The ASA asks people with disabilities who are planning to attend the convention to identify themselves and to provide information on how ASA can make the convention more accessible for them.

Please check the appropriate box on the Convention Registration and Hotel Reservation forms if you are disabled and would like assistance in facilitating your attendance at the convention. A note outlining your specific needs should accompany Convention Registration and Hotel Reservation forms.

When making a hotel reservation, you may request audio, visual, or mobility assistance. If you want the ASA Executive Office to verify that your accessibility request(s) will be honored, please send a copy of your reservation confirmation with the equipment request noted to: ASA Special Housing, 1307 New York Avenue, NW, Suite 700, Washington, DC 20005-4701; fax 202-638-0882; meetings@asanet.org.

ASA will make every effort to provide assistance for people who use wheelchairs, interpreters for hearing-impaired individuals, and escorts and readers for people with visual impairments if specific requests are provided at the time of pre-registration. During the convention, people with disabilities who desire a place to relax or assistance with wheelchair repairs, readers, escorts, interpreters and so on may also visit the Comfort Zone.
