Notes about Search Options

N.B. Search options by name look at only the last name fields in the database. Entering a last name and a first name, such as “Smith, Jane” or “Brown John,” will yield no result.

Presenter’s Last Name: To see a list of all activities—sessions, meetings, other events—for which someone is scheduled, enter the individual’s last name. You will then see a list of presenters with that last name, sorted alphabetically by first name. Click on the desired name to view that person’s scheduled meeting activities, with the date and time shown below each activity title. Click on the underlined session/event title to see the full listing.

Organizer’s Last Name: To pull up a list of all the sessions organized by one individual, enter that person’s last name. You will then see a list of session titles, with the date and time of the session shown below each session title. Click on the underlined session title to see the full session listing.

Session Title: This option searches through titles of sessions, meetings, social events, etc. Entering a topic keyword (e.g., culture) will generate a list of all activities with that word in the title field. To produce a list of all receptions during the meeting, enter “reception” in the search field. To see a list of all workshops, enter “workshop” in the search field. Find all roundtable sessions by searching for “roundtable.” And so on.

For those who wish to view lists of sessions by program component, below is the list of components and suggested title keyword(s) to use for a search. Please note that when searching for the Courses being held pre- and post-convention, you do need to use a period after the keyword in order to limit the search effectively.

Keyword: This search looks at the keywords selected by authors when papers were submitted last winter. These are voluntary, self-selected keywords; there was no preset roster or index of topics.

Presenter’s Name: This links to an A-Z index of everyone who is in the program database, including organizers, presenters, committee members, section council members, etc. Click on the appropriate letter (A-Z) at the topic of the screen to view that portion of the index. Click on a person’s name to view a list of their meeting obligations with date and time of each event.

Clickable Event Calendar: Click on this option to select the program day that you wish to view. Day options are given at the top of the screen; the default is first full day of the Annual Meeting, August 16. The daily matrix may take a minute or two to load. Session timeslots appear on the top row. The facility where an event is being held appears in the left column. Identify the timeslot column you are interested in, then scroll down to see what is scheduled in that column.

TO PRINT THE EVENT CALENDAR: Set your page orientation to "landscape" in order to accommodate the width of the daily matrix. One way that users of Internet Explorer may do this is to click on File on the toolbar, select Print Preview, click the Page Setup button, select Landscape orientation, click OK, then print.

Session Title: This links to an A-Z index of event titles, including sessions, committee meetings, section meetings, social events and receptions, and activities of other groups. Click on the appropriate letter (A-Z) at the topic of the screen to view that portion of the index. Click on an event title to view description (if available), list of participants, and the date and time of the event.
